Alternatives · Streaks
Streaks alternatives, ranked by what you are actually missing.
The Streaks alternatives worth your time in 2026: Habit Pocket for a web app plus real numbers and clock times behind the checkmarks, Habitify for the widest platform spread, HabitKit for tile grids and widgets on iOS and Android, Loop for free and open source on Android, and Way of Life for a note beside every day. Streaks itself is still the best pure iPhone and Apple Watch streak app at $5.99 once. If that is all you need, keep it.

The reason
Why look for a Streaks alternative at all?
Streaks is a well-built app, so people rarely leave because it is bad. In practice there are four reasons, and which one applies to you decides which app below is right.
- You are not staying inside Apple
- Streaks runs on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, and nowhere else. No Android app, no web app, no browser fallback. One Android phone in the house and the history simply stops.
- A checkmark stopped being enough
- Streaks records that you did the thing. It does not hold 7,412 steps, 76.4 kg or a 07:15 wake-up as values you can chart six months later. Once you want the quantity and not just the compliance, a checkbox app cannot follow you there.
- 24 tasks is a real ceiling
- Streaks caps you at 24 tasks by design, which is a deliberate and defensible choice for a streak app. It is still a ceiling, and people who track sleep, weight, mood and training alongside their habits hit it.
- You want to review it on a laptop
- Streaks has no web app, so reviewing a year of data means squinting at a phone. Reviewing is a sit-down activity for most people, and that is where the absence gets noticed.
Before you switch
Keep Streaks if the Apple Watch is how you log.
Streaks is not a bad app you are escaping. It is an Apple Editors’ Choice that costs $5.99 once with nothing recurring, auto-completes tasks straight from Apple Health, and has the best Apple Watch app in this category by a distance. Nothing on the list below matches it there, and I am not going to pretend otherwise: Habit Pocket has no Watch app at all. If you track up to 24 yes/no tasks, live entirely inside Apple, and log most of them from your wrist, switching costs you more than it gains.
The shortlist
5 Streaks alternatives worth considering
Ordered by the need each one answers, not by which I would prefer you picked. Every entry names where it loses, including mine.
- 01
Habit Pocket
My appBest for: Numbers, clock times, and a browser
Habit Pocket is my own app, which is the only reason it appears on this list, so read this card knowing that. It keeps the part Streaks gets right, one grid where a longer run gets a deeper colour, and adds the two things a checkmark cannot hold: a number with its own unit (5,000 steps, 76.4 kg) and a real clock time, so a 07:15 wake-up is stored as a time rather than a number in disguise. The same grid opens in a browser on a laptop, which Streaks has never done, and on iPhone it opens straight into the grid with no account at all.
Where it loses: No Apple Watch app, no Android app yet, and push reminders are on the roadmap rather than shipped, so a calendar event is the honest workaround today. There is also no importer: Habit Pocket exports CSV and JSON but cannot read a file back in, so a Streaks history does not come across.

Habitify
Best for: Being on every device you own
Habitify runs on iOS, Android, the web, macOS, Apple Watch and Wear OS, the widest spread of anything here and the obvious move if leaving Streaks means leaving Apple. It handles numeric and timed habits, bad habits, checklists, and an Off Mode that pauses a streak instead of breaking it, and it pulls from Apple Health, Google Fit, Strava and Fitbit.
Where it loses: Habitify restructured its pricing in April 2026 and the free tier now stops at 3 habits, which makes it closer to a trial than a plan. Paid tiers start at $29.99 a year and the top tier is a good deal more, so it is the most expensive habit on this page to keep.

HabitKit
Best for: Tile grids and home-screen widgets
HabitKit turns each habit into a GitHub-style tile grid that fills in as you go, and its widgets are the best-looking in the category on both iOS and Android. It allows several completions in one day and flexible frequency goals, so "three times a week" is a first-class idea rather than a streak you keep having to forgive.
Where it loses: HabitKit is yes/no only. No numeric habits with units, no timers, and no health integrations, so it solves the platform problem but not the "a checkmark is not enough" problem. Sync is backup-based rather than live, so a second device means exporting and restoring a file.

Loop Habit Tracker
Best for: Free, open source, and offline
Loop Habit Tracker is completely free and open source under GPL-3.0, needs no account, works entirely offline, and still gives you measurable habits, daily reminders, a habit-strength score and CSV export. Nothing else on this list asks so little of you, and nothing else is auditable line by line.
Where it loses: Loop is Android only. No iPhone app, no iPad app, no web app, and no sync between devices. If you are leaving Streaks and keeping your iPhone, Loop is not an option at all, which is the single most common disappointment behind this search.

Way of Life
Best for: A note beside every day
Way of Life is the journal-style option: red, green or a skip for each day, room for a note on the day itself, and trend bar charts underneath. It runs on iOS and Android, has reminders, and exports to CSV, Excel or JSON. The notes are why people stay on it, because a chain of colours never tells you why a week went badly.
Where it loses: Way of Life has no health integrations, no watch app and no widgets, and the free tier is limited enough that most people end up paying to use it properly. The interface also shows its age next to everything else on this list.

Streaks and its alternatives, compared
The rows that actually decide this, filled from each app’s own site and store listing.
Competitor details checked in August 2026 against each app’s official site and store listing. Prices are US App Store or Google Play and move with your region. A dash in the Habit Pocket column is an honest gap, not a hidden one.
Demo
One grid holding checks, numbers, times and picks.
A live Habit Pocket grid running on this page, not a screenshot. Exercise is a yes/no, Steps and Weight are numbers with units, Wake is a real clock time, and Practice is a pick from a list you define. Streaks holds the first of those and nothing else.
Demo
The chart a chain of checkmarks cannot draw.
The candle chart pairs each night’s bedtime and wake-up into a single bar and handles the overnight span properly, so a 23:40 bedtime and a 07:10 wake-up read as one continuous night. Example data, not a real history.
FAQ
Streaks alternatives — common questions
Habit Pocket and Habitify are the only two real options, because most habit trackers are phone-only. Habit Pocket gives you the same grid in a browser, plus numeric habits with units and time-of-day habits that store a 07:15 wake-up as an actual time. Habitify gives you a web app alongside Android, macOS and both watch platforms, plus health integrations Habit Pocket does not have outside Apple Health on iPhone. If breadth of devices is the priority, pick Habitify; if the depth of what you can log is, pick Habit Pocket.
Yes, and Loop Habit Tracker is the honest answer if you are on Android: completely free, open source under GPL-3.0, no account, and no paid tier waiting behind anything. On iPhone the free options are thinner. Habit Pocket is free forever for up to 5 habits with sync and CSV/JSON export included, Habitify’s free tier stops at 3 habits since its April 2026 pricing change, and Streaks itself has no free tier at all, only the $5.99 one-time purchase.
No, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. Streaks has the best Apple Watch app in this category and Habitify is the only alternative on this list with a Watch app at all. Habit Pocket, HabitKit, Loop and Way of Life have none. If your wrist is where you actually mark a habit done, that is a good reason to keep Streaks rather than switch.
Two reasons account for almost all of it. Either you are no longer all-Apple, because Streaks runs only on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro with no Android or web version, or checkmarks stopped being enough and you want the quantity behind them: how many steps, what weight, what time you actually woke up. The first reason points at Habitify or HabitKit, the second at Habit Pocket.
Not as a clean file transfer, and this catches people out. Habit Pocket exports CSV and JSON but has no importer, so there is nothing to feed a Streaks export into. On Pro the public REST API accepts an entry for any date you name, so a script can replay old data day by day. Otherwise most people start clean on the day they switch and keep Streaks installed for a while as a read-only archive.
Habitify if you want the closest like-for-like replacement with sync, health integrations and reminders across Android, iOS and the web. HabitKit if you want the tile-grid look and widgets and only track yes/no habits. Loop if you want free and open source and never need a second device. Habit Pocket has no Android app yet, only the web app in a mobile browser, so it is not the pick here.
